The Jacobs Municipal Services Team is seeking a dynamic self‑motivated coordinator to manage administrative operations within the Community Development Department and assist the Planning, Code Enforcement, and Land Development teams.
$50,000.00/yr - $60,000.00/yr

Essential Function And Duties/Responsibilities- Prepares the meeting agendas and packets, before and after, all public zoning meetings according to the local and state zoning requirements including, but not limited to, setup of the meeting room, preparing the agenda, attending the evening meetings, and preparing the meeting minutes.
- Intakes and processes land use cases, variances, plans, land disturbance permits, etc. in the client’s permitting software.
- Cross‑trains to assist the Building Inspections permitting process.
- Assists with Open Record Requests on behalf of the department.
- Assists with resolution of administrative inquiries and questions from the public.
- Coordinates the meeting schedules with the Community Development Director.
- Co‑ordinates with multiple departments to address customer service needs, including planning and development‑related issues.
- Demonstrates knowledge of planning, development, and zoning processes and troubleshoots related issues.
- Performs miscellaneous customer service tasks or additional projects as needed.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of experience, preferably in clerical support, customer service, or a construction‑related field; OR any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
- Familiarity with modern office equipment, procedures, and various software applications.
- Ability to learn and apply relevant local, state, and federal laws, codes, ordinances, and City policies.
- Capacity to comprehend all facets of the job, analyze work materials, reports, and special projects, and problem‑solve operational and technical policies and procedures.
- Skills in composing general correspondence, letters, and meeting minutes.
- Ability to perform mostly sedentary to light work, which requires the ability to exert light physical effort, but may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5‑25 pounds).
- Ability to handle extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation.
- Ability to perceive and discriminate visual cues or signals.
- Associate's or Bachelor’s Degree.
- Prior experience as a Permit Technician, Permit Runner or related Construction, Engineering or Architecture Industry experience preferred.
- Familiarity with survey documents, construction design documents and plans review is a plus.
