Roadside Assistance Driver – Flatbed (57481)
The Roadside Service Tech Flatbed is responsible for providing safe, best‑in‑class roadside solutions for AAA members while ensuring positive member experiences in a tow vehicle or flatbed vehicle.
Flatbed Technicians respond to member requests for service within a given ETA, ensuring personal safety, member safety, vehicle security, and education on possible issues. Minor mechanical assistance is provided to attempt to get the member’s vehicle on‑the‑go; if unsuccessful, the vehicle is towed to repair facilities or other member‑requested destinations. AAA products and services are promoted and a complete resolution of member issues is achieved.
Compensation
$24 per hour base pay plus full benefits & incentive pay.
Additional differential pay is available: $2.75 per hour overnight differential (10 pm–6 am), $1.75 per hour evening differential (6 pm–10 pm), $1 per hour weekend differential. Differentials can be combined.
- Accept calls and respond to Dispatch or members, providing action and emotional support as needed.
- Provide efficient minor mechanical assistance and towing service, diagnosing probable causes and safely towing vehicles under club policies.
- Maintain AAA high standards of service and image; keep service vehicle and equipment in good working order, follow safety procedures, and represent the AAA brand professionally.
- Promote AAA products and services, educate members on battery replacement, and coordinate with Dispatch to reach member destinations.
- Work independently with little face‑to‑face contact, adapting to a variety of shifts in a 24/7 operation.
- Prevent damage and injury by securing proper towing points and safely handling vehicle dynamics.
- Work under pressure in busy traffic, weather, and traffic conditions.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- At least 21 years of age.
- Post‑secondary training in automotive mechanics and familiarity with electrical troubleshooting.
- Active and valid driver’s license issued by one state or jurisdiction.
- DOT card pre‑hire and current employee within 1 Year.
- Pass a motor vehicle record check during pre‑hire screening and periodically during employment.
