We are seeking a friendly, organized, and professional Medical Front Desk Receptionist to join our healthcare team. This role is the first point of contact for patients and visitors, responsible for creating a welcoming environment, efficiently managing administrative duties, and supporting smooth patient flow within the practice.
Key Responsibilities- Greet patients and visitors warmly upon arrival.
- Answer and route incoming calls in a professional manner.
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments.
- Check patients in and out, ensuring accurate and complete information is collected.
- Verify patient insurance information and collect co-pays or outstanding balances.
- Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Update and maintain electronic medical records (EMR) accurately.
- Communicate with medical staff to coordinate patient care and resolve scheduling conflicts.
- Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, including faxes, emails, and mail.
- Keep the reception area clean, organized, and stocked with necessary forms and supplies.
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or medical office certification is a plus.
- Prior experience in a medical office or front desk role preferred.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance verification processes.
- Proficiency in using EMR systems (e.g., Epic, eClinical
Works, Athenahealth). - Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a professional demeanor.
