Interim Grammar School Music Teacher (Grades PK-12)

Covenant Christian Academy is seeking a qualified professional in the area of grammar school music education. The candidate for this position should hold a Bachelor’s degree in music education or equivalent music degree and have had experience teaching music in the classroom at the elementary school level. Experience in vocal and instrumental music as well as pedagogical concepts such as Kodaly, Orff, and Feierabend is desired.

The candidate will possess competency to engage in our distinctly Christian and classical model with a passion for teaching music in a variety of approaches, styles, and formats.


** This is a temporary position running from August 31, 2026 through November 2026. Additional work beyond these dates may be possible.**

The Grammar School Music Teacher position includes, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Teach General Music classes once per week for Grades PK-4.
  • Plan and direct the Grade 4 Choir once per week.
  • Plan and direct the Grade 5 & 6 Choir once per week.
  • Plan and direct the Grade 7 & 8 Choir once per week.
  • Plan and direct the Grade 9-12 Choir twice per week.
  • Potentially teach some private lessons to vocal or instrumental students based on personal proficiency.
  • Be available during set hours each week to work with students individually for tutoring and/or coaching for music class or performance-related events.
  • Working knowledge and experience with computer technology and computer software for music applications is valuable and essential.
