Journeyman Electrician

Job Summary
:
Barnes Electric Service Tech has been an industrial electrical contractor since 1996, specializing in building and installing custom control panels for aggregate, asphalt, concrete, mining, and manufacturing plants. The Journeyman Electrician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in heavy civil construction and equipment settings. They will work independently or as part of a team to ensure that all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities
  • Install and repair electrical systems, including automation, motor control, and electrical equipment.
  • Perform regular maintenance on electrical systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical problems and provide solutions.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints.
  • Keep up to date with industry codes and standards and ensure compliance in all work.
  • Communicate with customers to understand their electrical needs and provide recommendations.
  • Train and mentor apprentices or less experienced electricians, as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area and follow all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Install and repair electrical systems, including wiring, lighting, and electrical panels.
  • Perform regular maintenance on electrical systems to ensure optimal performance.
Qualifications
  • Completion of an apprenticeship program and Journeyman Electrician certification.
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial motor control electrical installation and repair.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems and codes and the ability to interpret schematics and blueprints.
  • Familiarity with a variety of electrical tools and equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces, if required.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
