As an RN Diabetes Educator at our facility you will be joining a compassionate, hard-working team that understands how to give excellent care to our patients and how to work together in a collaborative way to ensure a positive environment for everyone. In this role:

• You will be responsible for teaching and coordinating community classes, assessing the needs of the patient in both inpatient and outpatient settings, and providing appropriate education for disease specific care.
• You will communicate with patients and families, medical staff, nursing staff, and other health care professionals to assure patient care needs are met.
• You will educate patients on the necessary lifestyle changes involved in a diabetes diagnosis, including nutrition, medication, physical activity, and glucose testing.
• You will customize care to the needs of patients to attain high levels of customer satisfaction. You will develop and implement educational policies and procedures.

• RN (Registered Nurse)
• CDCES (Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist) must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• Associate Degree
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
