Hourly Pay Rate: $15.00
Instruct Upward Bound Students in grades 9‑11 during a five‑week summer academic program in an elective subject. Elective subjects can include, but are not limited to, arts and humanities, social sciences, health and physical education, business and technology, life skills and practical arts, and other specialized areas. This will be an on‑site teaching experience at the Weber State Ogden campus, 2‑7 hours per day, 4 days a week, June 9th – July 10th.
Required Qualifications- Completion of at least sophomore year in a post‑secondary institution with a major in a pertinent discipline or evidence of equivalent instructional knowledge and/or experience.
- Experience in tutoring, mentoring, and/or community service with high school level students.
- B.A./B.S. in the pertinent discipline.
- Experience and/or knowledge of the special problems of the minority, low income, first‑generation, and physically disabled students.
- Graduate of TRiO program or experience in overcoming the challenges and/or circumstances similar to those of the target population.
- Sedentary work; occasional exertion up to 10 pounds; sitting most of the time; occasional walking/standing.
- Visual acuity requirements for determining accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work.
