Finance Director

The fundamental reason this classification exists is to plan, direct, and coordinate activities to ensure a fiscally sound governmental organization that meets or exceeds all legal and ethical requirements and generally accepted financial management principles.

The Finance Director assists with the day-to-day operations of the Finance Department by performing a variety of complex supervisory, professional, administrative, and technical work in accordance with statutory procedures and broad policies as prescribed by administration.

• Maintain effective procurement procedures for commodities and services.
• Provide effective treasury management.
• Acquire, manage, and dispose of property for public facilities.
• Provide an effective debt management program.
• Provide fiscal reporting.
• Provide for an efficient and effective budget program.
• Develop and manage policies and an internal control system to ensure the integrity of financial resources.
• Plan, organize, and direct the annual budget and audit process.
• Provide financial advisory services for all town departments.
• Collaborate with leadership and staff to meet organizational goals and priorities.
• Work independently exercising considerable initiative and independent judgment under the direction of the Town Manager.
