About Teknor Apex

From a single Rhode Island tire shop founded by Alfred Fain in 1924 to a global custom compo under, Teknor Apex has grown through nearly a century of innovation and collaboration. We now operate nine U.S. facilities with additional sites in Belgium, Singapore, Germany, and China. Still privately held, the company is led by Fain’s grandson, continuing a family tradition of building lasting relationships with employees and customers.

“Manufacturing is a team sport and we work together to achieve our goals.” ~Jon Fain Your shift

3rd shift (10:45pm to 7am)

A night in this role:
You arrive a little before 10:45pm, review the queue of production samples, and set up instruments per the relevant SOPs. Through the night, you execute tests, interpret routine data with confidence, and make clear go/no‑go calls on material acceptability. You capture results accurately, collaborate with teammates as needed, and contribute to refining SOPs and test methods. As the shift winds down, you finalize records so production has what they need for the morning handoff.

you’ll do
  • Assist in writing and updating applicable SOPs and Test Methods.
  • Perform laboratory procedures competently with minimal supervision.
  • Decide on acceptability of material based on test outcomes.
  • Apply a working knowledge of laboratory instruments to interpret routine data per SOPs (B-level capability).
  • Handle additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Be available to work overtime as needed.
Skills you’ll use
  • Basic math to support calculations tied to procedures and test results.
  • Accurate data entry and sample/result logging.
What you bring
  • High school diploma or GED (required).
  • Minimum of one (1) year of lab experience.
  • 1–3 years of experience in a Manufacturing or Lab environment.
