Materials Blending Process Operator

Overview

Do you take pride in accuracy, coordination, and keeping production moving? In this role, you’ll manage the blending process from material staging to labeling and changeovers—always guided by batch cards, schedules, and customer packaging requirements.

• Before any charge: verify TA item code numbers, confirm lot numbers and weights, and record each lot number on the batch card.
• Prepare the equipment: clean and inspect the blender, then stage the raw materials and ready the blender for the next compound charge.
• Execute precisely: add all required hand-adds exactly as specified by the batch card.
• Own quality and communication: report any variation from procedure to supervision and document the change on the batch card; coordinate with other operating areas to keep throughput steady.
• Finish strong: review the production schedule and follow customer packaging instructions so all products are packed, labeled, weighed, and sealed correctly; alert the Bagger Leadman to any schedule or instruction issues or potential problems.
• Label and transition: generate labels, align and affix them neatly, and complete packaging equipment changeovers quickly and cleanly while using required safety equipment; notify mill area operators after changeover.
• Stay ahead: stage packaging materials for upcoming work (Gaylords, Supersacks, etc.), and scan/enter finished goods into the computer system.
• Lead by example: maintain excellent housekeeping, wear required PPE, hit or beat plant KPIs, and drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
• Grow your range: learn the Line 4 Blending area and be ready to cover other jobs when needed.

• Ability to read and comprehend English and perform basic math accurately.
• Experience operating—or willingness to learn—forklifts; ability to use an electric hand truck.
