Long Term Care Pharmacist - Pawtucket, RI

Overview

A pharmacy role is available for a 13-week contract in Pawtucket, RI, offering an opportunity to work in a long-term care setting. This position requires a licensed Pharmacist ready to start as soon as possible, with a schedule from Monday to Friday, including a mix of day and evening shifts.

• Accepting and dispensing prescription medications
• Monitoring patient medication compliance
• Ensuring all medications are legally and properly supplied
• Maintaining confidential patient records accurately and managing pharmacy files
• Advising patients on medication usage, possible reactions, and answering questions
• Providing consultation on prescription and non-prescription medications regarding storage, dosage, side effects, and drug interactions
• Providing patient services such as smoking cessation, blood pressure measurement, and cholesterol management
• Educating patients on handling medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters
• Compounding medications for internal or external use
• Preparing sterile solutions following proper procedures
• Supervising pharmacy staff (technicians and clerks) and maintaining appropriate inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies
• Communicating effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare practitioners to identify and manage drug-related problems

• Doctor of Pharmacy degree
• State pharmacy license in-hand (Rhode Island license required)
• Prior IV experience
