The

Internship Experience

The Narrative Design Intern will support Hasbro’s Gaming organization in crafting storytelling experiences that bring our games to life. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with Mid‑Level and Senior Narrative Designers to create on-brand narrative content across the entire games portfolio. This includes writing package copy, naming content, thematic card text, narrative elements, game rules, and other creative assets that shape the player experience.

You will work alongside a talented cross-functional team of Graphic Designers, Game Designers, Engineers, Project Managers, and Product Managers to help bring innovative new games to market. This internship blends creative writing, storytelling, editorial accuracy, and cross-functional collaboration ideal for someone who loves games, world building, and creating engaging player-facing content.

This is a unique opportunity to grow as a narrative designer while helping shape the stories, tone, and thematic identity of Hasbro’s future games.

What You’ll Do as a Narrative Design Intern
  • Brainstorm themes, story concepts, and tone to drive narrative-based game experiences.
  • Write compelling, on-brand package copy, including product names, taglines, and thematic descriptions.
  • Collaborate with Game Designers to develop, test, and refine gameplay loops, then craft accurate, accessible game rules and reference materials.
  • Create engaging, audience‑centric card content and other narrative game elements.
  • Work with Graphic Designers to support on‑trend, on‑brand packaging, unboxing experiences, and communication assets.
  • Complete editorial tasks including research, fact‑checking, proofreading, and document management.
  • Participate as an active, creative member of a cross‑functional team contributing ideas in brainstorms, playtests, and status meetings.
  • Embrace surprises, ask questions freely, have fun, and of course play lots of games!
What You'll Bring

By the end of the internship period, success will include:

  • Delivery of polished, on‑brand copy across package text, gameplay materials, and narrative content.
  • Positive feedback from cross‑functional partners regarding clarity, creativity, and accuracy of writing.
  • Demonstrated growth in storytelling, creative ideation, editorial quality, and collaborative communication.
  • Ability to incorporate feedback and pivot quickly in a fast‑moving creative environment.
  • A strong creative voice aligned with Hasbro’s tone, brand, and audience expectations.
