Job Summary

This role is hands‑on and highly collaborative — leading some of Collette’s most visible storytelling work while helping elevate the quality, clarity, and consistency of copy across the team.

The Senior Copywriter partners closely with the Associate Creative Director, Art Director, Creative Team, and cross‑functional stakeholders to ensure Collette’s brand promise, voice, and point of view are clearly expressed — from long‑form brochures to integrated seasonal campaigns. This role does not require formal people management, but it does require strong judgment, influence, and ownership.

Primary Functions
  • Lead assigned copy projects from concept to completion across platforms (including but not limited to print, digital, email, paid media, video, and presentations), ensuring quality, consistency, and on‑time delivery.
  • Apply a deep understanding of Collette’s brand promise, voice, and competitive landscape to shape differentiated, high‑impact messaging that strengthens brand positioning and supports business objectives.
  • Shape high‑visibility storytelling, focusing on how copy connects to our brand position and the business strategy — not just individual deliverables.
  • Collaborate with project leads, Associate Creative Director, Art Director, Creative Team members, and cross‑functional partners to translate strategy into effective copy solutions.
  • Bring brand voice, tone, and point of view into all projects, helping ensure brand cohesion across channels while allowing for appropriate flexibility by audience.
  • Provide informal feedback and guidance to copywriters during early concepting and draft stages, elevating clarity, structure, and voice before routing.
  • Incorporate feedback thoughtfully and professionally, balancing creative integrity with business needs and stakeholder input.
  • Help protect brand standards by identifying unclear or undifferentiated work and raising recommendations early in the process.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and working reviews, contributing ideas that strengthen campaign narratives and creative through‑lines.
  • Research category, competitor, and messaging trends and apply insights to sharpen point of view and improve effectiveness.
  • Support onboarding and development of copywriters by sharing standards and best practices.
  • Work effectively within established workflows, self‑managing priorities and bringing clarity to complex or ambiguous assignments.
  • Serve as back‑up to the Associate Creative Director for escalated copy questions or urgent needs.
Knowledge & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree required; degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field preferred.
  • 5–8 years of professional copywriting experience, with a portfolio demonstrating long‑form storytelling, campaign development, and execution across channels.
