Headquartered in Paterson, NJ, Straight and Narrow is the largest program of its kind, providing innovative and compassionate services to individuals struggling with substance use and co-occurring disorders. We seek dedicated, caring, and compassionate individuals to work in our Residential/Outpatient Treatment Facilities and Community Programs.

Position:
Maintenance Worker

Location: Paterson, NJ

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance tasks as assigned by the Director of Operations or Maintenance Supervisor, including plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, electrical work, and general building maintenance.
• Repair plumbing fixtures such as toilets, sinks, and related components.
• Perform minor electrical repairs, including replacing switches, bulbs, and fixtures.
• Operate and maintain HVAC systems, including replacing filters and cleaning vents.
• Handle security-related tasks, including lock repairs and managing the building’s security system.
• Serve as the point person during emergencies, familiar with alarm systems and emergency exit plans.
• Conduct fire and emergency drills, and maintain safety logs under supervision.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Relevant work experience and good interpersonal skills are essential. Ability to work overtime, including nights and weekends, and in inclement weather. Valid driver’s license required.
