$16.00/hr - $19.00/hr

Job Summary

The Shelter Aide assists and fills in for the House Manager. They are responsible for monitoring residents, working closely with the supervisor, and communicating all house activities.

Job Duties
  • Embodies Eva’s Village’s core values, voice, and tone to provide an exceptional experience for clients, funders, employees, and volunteers.
  • Familiar with all rules, policies, and procedures of the program.
  • Maintains sign-in/sign-out sheets, activities log, communication book, and resident data entry into the HMIS system.
  • Handles phone calls, messages, mail distribution, and maintains program security.
  • Reports incidents concerning residents and communicates with the transportation coordinator about van issues.
  • Arranges transportation for residents and may drive if needed.
  • Interacts with residents, referring problems to the proper personnel.
  • Attends mandatory meetings and performs urine/breathalyzer tests, monitors medication, and manages resident room assignments.
  • Coordinates resident appointments and monitors employment and attendance at NA/AA meetings.
  • Performs crisis intervention, manages office supplies, and oversees resident meals and activities.
  • Ensures maintenance issues are reported and residents' needs are addressed promptly.
  • Performs daily inspections, arranges for NA/AA meetings, and maintains resident records.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • For those in recovery, a minimum of one year of abstinence and knowledge of the 12 steps.
  • Ability to work independently, learn quickly, follow policies, and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to supervise residents fairly and diffuse crises.
