Compensation: $155,000 to $190,000 base plus bonus
SummaryWe are partnering with a private equity backed pharmaceutical and healthcare solutions company located in Ocean Township that specializes in the design and construction of advanced disinfection and containment rooms for hospitals and healthcare systems. The business was recently acquired by a private equity sponsor that has invested heavily in infrastructure, leadership, and long term growth initiatives.
As part of this next phase, the firm is seeking a Controller to play a critical role in modernizing and scaling the accounting and finance function. This individual will serve as a key partner to the CFO and private equity stakeholders, helping to revamp financial processes, strengthen controls, and build a finance organization capable of supporting rapid growth in a highly regulated healthcare and manufacturing environment.
This role is ideal for a hands on finance leader with experience in private equity backed companies, pharmaceuticals, life sciences, or regulated manufacturing who thrives in transformation oriented environments.
Responsibilities- Lead the overhaul and modernization of the accounting and finance function following the private equity acquisition
- Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors, tax advisors, and third party consultants
- Manage and coordinate annual audits and ensure audit readiness across all accounting functions
- Design, implement, and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls in compliance with GAAP and healthcare industry standards
- Oversee month end close, general ledger, financial reporting, and balance sheet integrity
- Manage payroll processing, payroll tax compliance, reconciliations, and related audits
- Oversee and develop the accounting, treasury, and payroll teams, building scalable processes and clear accountability
- Partner closely with the CFO on cash management, forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning
- Support private equity reporting requirements and provide financial insight to support strategic decision making and value creation initiatives
- Analyze financial transactions and operational trends to improve visibility, accuracy, and performance
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Seven or more years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience working in a private equity backed environment or through a post acquisition integration strongly preferred
- Background in pharmaceuticals, life sciences, medical devices, or regulated manufacturing highly preferred
- Prior experience leading process improvement, systems upgrades, or finance transformations
- At least one year of people management experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and audit processes
- CPA preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Power Point
- Strong communication skills with the ability to partner effectively with executives and investors
