The Role
Techno is seeking a Senior Resident Engineer to provide on-site leadership and oversight for construction activities. This role serves as the owner’s representative in the field and is responsible for ensuring construction work is executed in accordance with contract documents, schedules, budgets, safety requirements, and quality standards. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and experience managing large, complex infrastructure projects.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Serve as the primary on-site representative overseeing daily construction activities.
- Monitor contractor performance to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and contract requirements.
- Coordinate with project stakeholders, including contractors, designers, inspectors, and agency representatives.
- Review and approve submittals, RFIs, change orders, schedules, and pay applications.
- Oversee quality assurance, safety compliance, and environmental requirements.
- Identify construction issues, recommend solutions, and support dispute resolution.
- Prepare detailed field reports, progress updates, and documentation for project leadership.
- Support project meetings, audits, and milestone reviews.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline is preferred.
- Prior experience as a Resident Engineer or Senior Construction Manager on large civil, transportation, or tunneling projects.
- Strong knowledge of heavy civil construction methods, contract administration, and QA/QC practices.
- Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and complex construction operations.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and leadership skills.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required or strongly preferred (NY and/or NJ).
- Familiarity with tunneling, rail infrastructure, or major underground construction projects a plus.

The expected salary range for this role in the New Jersey is $75 - $95 per hour. The total compensation, including salary and bonuses, is determined by various factors such as experience, skill level, location, and qualifications, which are evaluated during the interview process.
