Job Title:

Locum to Perm Anesthesiologist – Cardiac Specialization

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Anesthesiologist to provide locum coverage with potential for permanent employment at a Level II Trauma Center. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team in a hospital-based environment, offering comprehensive anesthetic care for a diverse range of surgical procedures. This position offers the opportunity to transition from temporary to permanent employment based on mutual interest and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide anesthesia services for adult general surgical cases, including complex procedures such as open heart, thoracic, and vascular surgeries.

Administer various anesthetic techniques including IV regional, plexus, spinal, and regional anesthesia.

Manage intraoperative ventilation and hemodynamic parameters, including insertion and management of TEE probes, PA catheters, arterial lines, and central lines.

Supervise Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) in adherence to hospital policies.

Collaborate with surgical teams and hospital staff to ensure patient safety and optimal care outcomes.

Adhere to hospital protocols, documentation, and compliance standards, utilizing the Cerner EMR system.

Qualifications:

MD or DO degree with board certification in Anesthesiology.

Active, unrestricted New Jersey medical license (candidate must hold a current NJ license; no license eligibility is provided).

Current ACLS (American Heart Association) and BLS certifications.

Prior experience with complex vascular, cardiac, thoracic, and general surgeries preferred.

Demonstrated ability to manage advanced airway and complex anesthesia cases.

Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.

Ability to work varying shifts, including weekdays, nights, and weekends, based on surgical scheduling needs.
