WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We are seeking a Landscape Architect with 5-7 years of experience. Candidates must be able to work independently, be detail-oriented, efficient, adaptable to changing deadlines and priorities, and collaborate effectively. Designers are expected to think critically and contribute creatively to the design process. The ideal candidate will have experience in both Civil Engineering and Landscape Architecture projects, including athletic facilities, parking lots, public parks, hardscape, landscape, and grading and drainage/infrastructure projects.
This position typically works on a team of professionals under the direction of a licensed Landscape Architect, Professional Engineer, or Architect.
Candidates should be dedicated self-starters, able to work with senior-level staff, project managers, architects, engineers, and technical designers. They should also be able to function independently when necessary and have a dedication to the profession with a willingness to guide and mentor newer professionals.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Proactively contribute to projects from conceptual design through construction closeout.
- Manage production of construction documents and technical specifications for public bidding.
- Follow production schedules and meet multiple simultaneous deadlines.
- Ability to multi-task and handle more than one project at a time.
- Collaborate positively with in-house design teams, outside consultants, construction managers, and client representatives.
- Meet quality control requirements, budgets, and deadlines to ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
- Demonstrate excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Self-edit work and maintain a high level of accuracy.
- Travel to client locations as necessary.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture or Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
- Minimum 5-7 years of professional experience in an office environment with a history of increasing responsibility.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe; knowledge of REVIT.
- Strong design and graphic skills, including Sketch Up or other modeling/presentation software.
- Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills.
- Experience with K-12 schools and/or municipal projects is a plus.
- Self-driven, with a desire to learn and grow professionally, the ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and interact with clients.
- Additional background in stormwater modeling, SWPPP, ecology, sustainability, horticulture, and plant knowledge is encouraged to be included.
