Health Instructional Assistant for Virginia Peterson PCN# 260156. Under the clinical supervision of the Health Specialist/RN, provide specialized health care and assist the nurse in monitoring the mental and physical health conditions of students. Assist the classroom teacher in reinforcing instruction to individual or small groups of medically fragile and severely handicapped special education students, ages 3 - 22; assist in the preparation of instructional materials and implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEP’s);
provide routine clerical support.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Must meet one of the following requirements:
- 48 semester college units required (provide transcripts)
- Pass District Para educator Exam
- Certificate of Proficiency for Instructional Aides (NCLB certificate)
- Associate's degree or higher
- At least one year experience providing patient care in a health-care profession, OR one year experience working with special education students.
