In an after‑school setting, the classroom para educator reports to an assigned supervisor and assists a certificated teacher in reinforcing instruction to individual or small groups of students. Responsibilities include preparing instructional materials and providing routine clerical support. Duties are commensurate with demonstrated ability, training, education and experience.

• Education: High School graduation or equivalent (required). Must also meet one of:
• 48 semester college units (provide transcripts)
• Pass District Para educator Exam (exam Fridays at 1 pm)
• Certificate of Proficiency for Instructional Aides (NCLB certificate)
• College Associate’s degree or higher
• Experience: Knowledge of general needs and behavior of children; experience working in an educational setting (desired).
