The Journeyman Technology Field Tech, Worksite Solutions is responsible for independent diagnosis, failure analysis, and repair of various on- and off-machine technology systems. Duties include but are not limited to removing, repairing, assembling, and installing according to manufacturer specifications and technician skillset.

Qualifications and Requirements- Proof of high school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of three years equivalent experience in a Caterpillar or similar environment with hydraulic, engine and powertrain experience.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record; ability to obtain a DOT Medical Card.
- Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write in English).
- Proof of high school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of three years equivalent experience in a Caterpillar or similar environment with hydraulic, engine and powertrain experience.

- Ability to complete Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) prior to any job-related task according to policy and standards.
- Maintains clean, clutter-free personal work areas to ensure a safe environment.
- Adheres to required personal protective equipment (PPE) per safety policy.
- Demonstrates troubleshooting skills on various technology systems.
- Performs testing and compares data to specifications to determine if the system is working as designed.
- Repairs and diagnoses technology system failures according to business time guidelines.
- Completes complex machine technology system installations including auxiliary hydraulic system configuration and setup.
- Performs tasks independently, including inspections and troubleshooting.
- Completes technology system preventive maintenance and inspects/repairs components including machine guidance, productivity tracking, safety and on-machine health systems.
- Troubleshoots and repairs technology systems.
- Demonstrates understanding of various technology systems.
- Understands, tests, and repairs complex electrical systems including connectors, battery voltage systems, and harness types.
- Troubleshoots and repairs machine software and firmware compatibility as needed.
- Troubleshoots and repairs machine networking and ECM communication systems.
- Participates in continued education and training initiatives as outlined in the company career development plan.
- Utilizes service manuals and parts books to address technical issues within technician level abilities.
- Utilizes parts reusability guidelines.
- Completes actual service reports for files and warranty purposes using standard procedures.
- Addresses inquiries promptly to meet or exceed client expectations.
- Performs other duties as assigned while developing a mindset for technician productivity.
- Ability to navigate Microsoft products.
- Ability to obtain job-related certifications for specialty equipment (e.g., forklifts, rigging, overhead cranes).
- General knowledge of manufacturer-specific software (SIS, ET, and Trimble).
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Consistent attendance and timeliness with the ability to work overtime with limited notice.

- Ability to stand for long periods; walking, sitting, climbing stairs, reaching, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, twisting.
- Exposure to extreme temperatures and environment.
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. in accordance with lifting policy.
