About This RoleThe primary role of the RBG Technology Director is to drive the strategic vision and tactical implementation of technology solutions within the RBG. Working closely with RBG leadership, our Corporate Technology team, and other HDR stakeholders, you will identify, evaluate, and implement technology initiatives that optimize project execution and foster innovation. Your focus will be on data management, optimization, automation, and visualization.
Your success will involve developing consistent delivery approaches, connecting technology talent, shaping our three‑ to five‑year strategic plan, and positioning HDR as a market differentiator. You must communicate complex solutions clearly to non‑technical leaders and adeptly prioritize competing interests to implement strategy. This position reports to the RBG Professional Services Director and collaborates with related market sectors and business classes on resource allocation, hires, quality control, and technical excellence.
PrimaryResponsibilities
- Facilitate the development of an RBG technology vision and roadmap that identifies, develops, and monitors strategies for technology investments.
- Advance and implement technology related to digital delivery, data management, optimization, automation, and visualization.
- Collaborate with external vendors as well as internal business classes and corporate technology programs to align and advance RBG initiatives, including data analytics and artificial intelligence.
- Develop and implement standardized approaches and best practices for increased efficiency of technology‑related work and quality of delivery.
- Identify programmatic hardware and software needs such as high‑powered computing, and work with corporate technology to facilitate and implement solutions.
- Create technology guidelines, policies, and RBG software validation and maintenance procedures.
- Develop strategies and support practice and professional discipline groups to foster technology talent collaboration and skill development.
- Participate on project teams for larger programs and pursuits.
- Experience evaluating technology, software development, and deployment.
- Demonstrated understanding of a broad range of technologies and their application within the power, waste, and/or industrial sectors.
- Experience in numerical modeling, digital production, data sciences, and artificial intelligence.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience, with at least 5 years executing projects or leading project teams in architecture, engineering, and/or construction industries.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a related field.
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, information science, systems administration, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to formulate and execute applied technology strategies, implementation plans, and foster lasting change within an organization.
- Experience in data architecture and data management, well versed in industry standards.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with diverse teams to advance projects and initiatives.
- Experience in developing and managing diverse teams.
- Ability to work cooperatively with other business class directors, operations managers, technical directors and marketing managers.

CompensationThe expected compensation range, based on skills, experience, education and geographic location, is $189,280 – $239,200 (full‑time regular). Temporary and part‑time roles are eligible for limited benefits.
