Under the supervision of an RN, the Telemetry Technician performs monitoring duties. Reports to the Director of the Intensive Care Unit. FLSA:
Non‑exempt.

Schedule:

Varies. Part‑time, Union role. Work at Lourdes Medical Center.

• Perform continual surveillance of multiple monitors.
• Identify significant arrhythmias and/or signs of patient distress and intervene appropriately.
• Identify and correct for artifacts.
• Report abnormal assessment and telemetry findings or changes in the patient’s physical, mental, and emotional conditions to the nursing staff.
• Test equipment for proper working order and report equipment problems to the supervisor.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
• Licenses: EMT, EMT‑P, CNA, SRNA, or CMA. Preferred or completion of first semester clinical rotation in an accredited nursing degree program (ADN or BSN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Completion of Cardiac Telemetry Certification within 1 year of hire.
• Evidence of successful completion of a Telemetry/Dysrhythmia course.
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment.
