Hours: Up to 4.00 hours per day:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday (No Wednesdays)
Salary: $24.73 – $25.87
New Hires Condition: Conditional upon passing a fingerprint screening
Job DescriptionTemporary position for the remainder of the 2025‑26 school year.
The tutor is generally responsible for instruction of Reading/Language Arts and English Language Development of K‑8th grade students in small groups as assigned by the supervising teacher. The tutor will follow the schedule designated by the supervising teacher, instruct using a variety of instructional methods including research‑based ELD strategies, and may be responsible for maintaining program documentation for the assigned building.
EssentialResponsibilities
The tutor is generally responsible for instruction of Reading/Language Arts and English Language Development of K‑8th grade students in small groups as assigned by the supervising teacher. The tutor will be responsible for following the schedule as designated by the supervising teacher.
Non‑Essential Responsibilities- Assist other personnel as may be required to support them with the completion of their work activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the position.
- AA degree required; BA preferred.
- Ability to establish and maintain professional, cooperative working relationships.
- Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively with staff, students and patrons.
- Must follow supervisory directions and employ personal initiative when necessary.
- Demonstrated punctuality and an excellent work attendance record.
- Must work within designated bounds of authority and confidentiality.
- Ability to follow safe work practices and procedures.
- Ability to work independently with initiative.
- Able to work flexible hours.
- Prior job‑related experience preferred but not required.
- Bilingual and/or biliterate (Spanish); required.
- Experience working in a K‑12 setting preferred but not required.
- Record keeping and computer skills preferred.
- First Aid Card, or ability to obtain.
- Passing score on district‑administered bilingual test.
