THE ROLEThe City of Pasco Public Works Department is seeking an experienced and highly organized Project Coordinator II to support the administration and coordination of public works contracts, procurement processes, and capital improvement projects.
This advanced-level position plays a key role in overseeing competitive bid processes, coordinating consultant selection, managing project documentation, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local procurement requirements. The Project Coordinator II provides technical and functional support to Public Works leadership and works closely with Engineering, Finance, and other City departments to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, accurately, and in full compliance.

RESPONSIBILITIES- Coordinate and oversee competitive bid and negotiated contract processes for assigned projects
- Participate in the preparation of bid documents, RFQs, and consultant selection materials
- Assist in evaluation of bids and make recommendations for award of contracts
- Administer contracts and monitor compliance with legal and contractual requirements
- Audit contractor records, invoices, retainage accounts, and billings
- Process construction payments, requisitions, and purchase orders through the City’s financial system
- Track project performance and analyze progress toward medium and long-term goals
- Compile and analyze data; prepare detailed reports and presentations
- Establish and maintain structured file management systems to ensure compliance and audit readiness
- Research vendors and conduct cost analysis for bulk and project-related purchases
- Maintain direct coordination with the Finance Department to support budget and asset goals
- Serve as liaison with internal departments, contractors, regulatory agencies, and the public
- Review and recommend improvements to purchasing and contracting procedures
- Provide technical and functional support to Public Works management
- Communicate clearly and professionally in both written and verbal formats
- Maintain regular, timely, and reliable attendance
- Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Accounting, Project Management, Contract Law, Business, or related field
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience performing public works contracting or procurement in a government agency, or demonstrated contract administration experience in a related field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial management systems
- Principles and practices of public procurement and contract administration
- Federal, State, and local regulations related to Public Works contracting
- Budget tracking and financial oversight practices
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with minimal supervision
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and legal documents
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to foster positive working relationships

The City offers a full benefits package for the employee and all eligible dependents covered at low premiums including:
- Medical coverage at tiered monthly rates based on plan selection and coverage level
