MK Industries is seeking experienced Sheet Metal Mechanics to join our team in Pascagoula, Mississippi. This is a 12-month opportunity offering competitive pay, daily per diem for non-local candidates, and consistent hours. This role is essential to the fabrication and installation of precision metal systems in support of complex industrial and marine projects.
Primary Function:The Sheet Metal Mechanic will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing various metal structures and duct systems. This includes reading and interpreting blueprints, planning layout work, and performing installation in line with project specifications and safety regulations.
Tools and Equipment Used:Hand and power tools (snips, hammers, drills, etc.)
Metal forming and bending equipment
Welding and soldering tools
Rivet guns and fastening systems
Measuring tools (tape measures, levels, squares)
Ladders and scaffolding
Sheet metal (aluminium, steel, stainless steel)
Ductwork and ventilation components
Exhaust and containment panels
Fasteners, sealants, and insulation materials
Blueprints and layout templates
Key Responsibilities:Fabricate and install sheet metal assemblies such as ductwork, vents, exhaust systems, and panels
Interpret blueprints, drawings, and written specifications to determine layout and material requirements
Perform layout and fabrication tasks using hand tools, power tools, and forming equipment
Ensure accuracy and quality of installations according to shop mathematics and tolerances
Safely operate in industrial or marine environments, often in elevated or confined spaces
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet deadlines and maintain workmanship standards
Comply with all company safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE at all times
Maintain tools and equipment in proper working order and report maintenance needs
Keep work areas organised and clean to promote efficiency and safety
Competitive Salary Package: $38.00 per hour
Per Diem: $155.00 per day for non-local employees
