Pipe Welder 1st Class

Ameri-Force is seeking a highly skilled Pipe Welder 1st Class to join our team in Pascagoula, MS. This position plays a vital role in shipyard manufacturing, where precision and safety are paramount. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience welding stainless steel and copper-nickel piping using GTAW (TIG) processes, with the ability to work in a demanding and dynamic shipyard environment.

The primary responsibility of the Pipe Welder 1st Class is to perform high-quality welding on various pipe materials and configurations, ensuring structural integrity in accordance with military and industry standards. This includes working in confined spaces and at heights, often on a rotating shift schedule.

• Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW/stick) equipment
• Flux-Core Arc Welding (FCAW/wire) tools
• Welding clamps, grinders, and PPE
• Precision measuring tools (calipers, gauges)
• Stainless steel pipe
• Welding rods (e.g., 11018 electrode)

• Perform welding using GTAW (TIG), SMAW (stick), and FCAW (wire) on stainless steel, copper-nickel, and carbon steel pipes
• Pass military standard X-ray welding test in the 6G position (restricted)
• Work in confined spaces, at heights, and under various weather conditions as part of a 24-hour operational environment
• Interpret blueprints, welding procedures, and follow project specifications
• Adhere to strict safety standards and maintain good housekeeping practices
• Conduct pre-weld inspections and ensure weld quality per technical requirements
• Participate in rotating shift schedules based on project needs
