. Our work includes controllable‑pitch and fixed‑pitch propellers
, along with large‑scale foundry castings, machining, finishing, and inspection of propulsion hardware used on U.S. Navy surface ships and submarines
, as well as select commercial marine applications.
As a Quality Inspector
, you will play a direct role in ensuring the dimensional accuracy, material integrity, and overall quality of large, highly engineered propulsion components. This is a hands‑on position supporting foundry, machining, and finishing operations where precision and compliance are critical to ship performance, safety, and mission success.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities- Perform dimensional inspections and determine acceptability against applicable standards or specifications
- Perform Non‑Destructive Testing (NDT) inspections, including Visual Testing (VT) and Liquid Penetrate Testing (LPT), and determine acceptability against standards or specifications
- Provide inspection and quality documentation support for Manufacturing Engineering
- Perform Pitchometer floor layouts for large, fixed‑pitch propellers
- Accurately document and maintain inspection and quality records
- Maintain the calibration database and report any Out‑of‑Tolerance (OOT) tooling
- Report results of in‑process and final inspections to the Quality Manager
- Perform receiving inspections of purchased goods and materials
- Create, issue, and close out Non‑conformance Reports (NCRs) and Corrective Action Requests (CARs) as required
- Review quality documentation for accuracy, currency, and relevance; update documentation as needed
- Perform in‑process audits within the foundry, finishing, and machining departments to ensure compliance with established processes and policies
- Adhere to all prescribed safety rules and regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Quality Manager
- High School diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 2 years of manufacturing and/or inspection experience
- Working knowledge and hands‑on use of standard measuring and test equipment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
, including Excel and Word - Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs., including in awkward or confined positions
- Ability to safely operate forklifts, cranes, and various material‑handling equipment
- U.S. Citizenship is required and the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
- This role requires access or potential access to Unclassified Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NOFORN)
- Candidates must provide proof of U.S. citizenship (U.S. Passport, Birth Certificate, or Naturalization Certificate) and attest that they do not hold dual citizenship
- Experience with Laser Tracking/Scanning systems (FARO, Leica, Keyence)
- Proficiency with Poly Works Inspector and Poly Works Modeler software
- Additional experience with NDT testing methods and procedures
- Background in finishing operations and machine shop environments
