- High school diploma or GED required.
- Coursework in production management, industrial technology, or a related field preferred, or equivalent job training/experience.
- Must have hands‑on supervisory and leadership experience specifically in a shipyard environment.
- Must be able to lead and coordinate multiple craft departments (e.g., Welders, Pipe fitters, Electricians).
- Prior experience in ship repair operations and supervision required.
- Considerable knowledge of vessel maintenance, repair projects, and applicable maritime regulatory requirements.
- Ability to analyze and interpret blueprints, as‑built drawings, and repair specifications.
- Ability to plan cost‑effective work procedures while meeting strict quality and deadline requirements.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to instruct, build, and direct production teams.
- Direct multiple production phases within a specific project.
- Ensure production schedules are met.
- Perform duties under the general direction of the Project Manager, Facility Manager, and/or General Manager.
- Ensure all safety programs, policies, and procedures are followed.
- Assist foremen in conducting safety meetings.
- Review production drawings to determine production requirements, equipment, and procedures.
- Coordinate work assignments and employee instruction with Department Heads to ensure efficient work procedures.
- Monitor daily production and requisition additional materials, equipment, and manpower as needed.
- Coordinate with Quality Control Managers to ensure product compliance with company standards and specifications.
- Study specifications to plan repair construction procedures based on start/completion timelines and staffing requirements.
