Job Description

An Ingalls Welder is responsible for joining different types of metal materials using various welding processes such as Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW, stick welding) and Flux-Core Arc Welding (FCAW, wire welding). A welder may be required to work day or night depending on the number of ships under construction at any time.

Safety is paramount, and we expect adherence to industry standards.

  • Successful completion of a welding technical training certification program will be considered in lieu of experience. Qualified applicants must pass a hands‑on skill assessment; the weld test includes x‑ray quality.
