The Registered Nurse is a professional nurse who is educated in the art and science of nursing, with the goal of assisting patients to attain, maintain, and restore health when possible. The RN provides patient care using the Nursing Process within the MS Nurse Practice Act, ANA Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice, ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses, Accreditation Standards, CDC Guidelines for Infection Control, and SRHS Departments of Nursing Plan for Provision of Care, Treatment, and Services.

• Assist patients in achieving, maintaining, and restoring health when possible.
• Provide patient care utilizing the Nursing Process according to applicable standards and guidelines.
• Apply clinical judgment and interventions across patients of all ages.
• Collaborate with the Patient Care Manager, LPNs, Patient Care Assistants, and Unit Technicians.

• Graduate from the NLN School of Nursing.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Mississippi.
• Maintain BCLS certification;
  Labor & Delivery RNs must also hold ACLS and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation) certifications.
• Minimum one (1) year of inpatient clinical experience within the past five (5) years.
• Complete de‑escalation training within 90 days of position orientation.
• Physical ability to perform moderate activities, lift, move, and work extended periods.
• Mental acuity, communication, and stress‑management skills as outlined in the role description.
