and network technologies using fiber-optic infrastructure.

Job Duties:
- Perform Fiber Optics related Hardware Engineering to supportstage 4 and 5 test procedures development and test execution projectsfor shipboard C5
ISR systems. - Develop,updateandmaintainengineeringdocuments including:
- Stage 4 and 5 test procedures for integrated C5
ISR and COTS systems. - Interface control documents, cable block diagram, fiber optic cable topology,and wiring diagrams specific to fiber optic cables,connectorsandback shells.
- Hardware configurations including cabinets, trays, fixtures, sway braces,connectorsand fiber optic components.
- Hardware environmental qualification analysis reports (eg, shock, vibration,and Mil-STD-461
EMI/EMC).
- Stage 4 and 5 test procedures for integrated C5
- Assess engineering change proposals and document risks andimpactsto project milestones and deliverables with focus onmaintainingfiber optic standards(e.g.,MIL-STD-1773,
-2042,
-2052,
-2163and TIA-568, IEEE 802.3).
Qualifications
Required
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s in electrical engineering and nine (9) years or more relevant experience hardware engineering (focused onfiberoptics infrastructure);
BS degreemaybe offsetwithadditionalfour (4) years relevant experience. - Experience designing, installing, ormaintainingfiber optic networks, including integration with modern
COTS systems,components, fiber optic cables, coaxial, cat 5/6 cablesand fiber cable termination and splicing using appropriate tools.
Required Security Clearance:
- Must have an active secret clearance on first day of employment.
Required
Certifications:
- Fiber Optic Certification, (e.g.,ETA Certified Fiber Optic Technician [CFOT], FOA Certification, or equivalent).
Preferred Qualifications and Experience :
- Familiarity with
COTS communication systemsthatleveragefiber optic infrastructure, including: - Cisco routers and switches
(e.g., Catalyst or Nexus models). - Juniper networking equipment.
- Network Interface Cards (NICs)supporting fiber.
- Patch panels
and optical splitter equipment. - Proficiencyof Microsoft Office suite and Autocad.
- Experience with fiber optics test equipment(egLEDand Laser Light sources, power meters, optical time domain reflectometer,optical loss test set, optical video inspection system, optical leak detector).
- Experience with MIL-STD-2106 Development of Shipboard Industrial Test procedures.
- Cybersecurity Workforce (CSWF) IA Level II - Security+ certification, or CSSIP or equivalent.
- Prior experience providing support for a project in a shipyard environment.

Surface Search Radars (e.g., AN/SPY-6, SPS-series). - Communications: UHF, HF, VHF Marine Radios;
Shipboard Communication Cabinets; EHF Communications. - Networking: NIPRNET, SIPRNET, SI LANs.
- Safety:
Interior Alarms and Safety Systems. - Positioning: GPS, Sonar Mission Systems, Fathometer, and Depth Sounding Devices.
- Fiber Optic Systems and Hardware:
- Networking components:
Cisco and Juniper routers/switches, firewalls, and access points. - Infrastructure:
Fiber Patch Panels, Distribution Frames, Couplers, and Splitters. - Integration:
Media Converters and Ethernet-over-fiber solutions. - Optical Hardware:
High data-rate components such as
Optical Adapters, Transceivers (e.g., SFP/SFP+), Fiber Back-shells, and Connectors. - Integrated Bridge System:
