Overview
Receptionist – Singing River Health System Clinic, Pascagoula Clinic | Full-Time | Day shift, rotating weekends
Position Overview:
The Receptionist receives and assists patients and visitors, answers telephone calls, and organizes appointments. They help to facilitate patient care by carrying out receptionist responsibilities in a professional, efficient, and accurate manner.
- Receive and assist patients and visitors, answer telephone calls, and organize appointments.
- Facilitate patient care by performing receptionist duties in a professional, efficient, and accurate manner.
- Education: High school graduate or equivalent required.
- License: N/A
- Certifications: Must have de-escalation training completed by the end of position orientation (90 days); must have an appropriate level of de-escalation training.
- Experience: Experience working in a clerical or secretarial role in a healthcare-related setting preferred.

Physical Demands- Work is moderately active: sitting with frequent movement around the office and facility; occasional travel to another SRHS facility.
- Exerting a negligible amount of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects and the body.
- Repetitive motions of wrists, hands, and fingers while using standard office equipment (keyboard).
- Exposure to body fluids, sputum, and tissues that may carry infectious disease; ability to perceive sound at normal levels; close visual acuity for reading forms/printed materials.
- Ability to be active for extended periods and to work schedules as needed by hospital operations.
- Keen mental faculties, assessment, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication skills (spoken and written) and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail and ability to multi-task in complex situations; maintain collaborative relationships.
- Superior customer service skills and professional etiquette.
- Proficient computer skills (keyboard proficiency) and familiarity with MS Outlook and Word; basic office technology (telephone, fax).
- Appropriate clinical judgment for a patient population of all ages.
