Field Safety Leader in Transportation Industry
JOB SUMMARY: The Field Safety Leader (FSL) plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and compliant operation of hazardous materials and hazardous waste transportation activities.
ETA means the role leads field safety initiatives, conducts audits and inspections, provides training beheren works closely with drivers and management to promote a culture of safety. The FSL ensures compliance with federal, state, and local environmental and transportation regulations (e.g., DOT, OSHA, EPA, RCRA, and HAZMAT regulations).
- Serve as health and safety resource for drivers, employees and management in a continuous effort to improve safety performance and safe working environment
- Respond to and investigate safety incidents including accidents, spills and injuries. Complete safety reports including root cause analysis
- Maintain accurate records of incidents and assist with reporting to regulatory agencies as required
- Communicate and collaborate with organization leaders to identify training solutions that address negative performance trends
- Conduct remedial driver safety training based upon individual driver performance, and counsel drivers on performance improvement measures (including load securement, load placementivant safe driving techniques, trailer functions, and appropriate speeds)
- Conduct coul initial and yearly OSHA training (primarily shop and yard) in accordance with OSHA regulations, as well as training on DOT regulations and company procedure
- Collaborating with Director of Safety to present quarterly safety training and company‑wide quarterly safety meetings for drivers and employees
- Participate in assigned location safety and operational meetings type lexer? ?
- Perform road tests with drivers as part of orientation when needed
Inspect load securement, load documentation, measurements, and permits as time permits - Other duties and responsibilities as directed by the Director of Safety

Bachelor’s degree or (5) years of safety leader experience in lieu of degree requirement - t.Minimum of (5) years of experience as a health and safety professional within the transportation industr
