Duties

The Part-Time Recreation Attendant provides support for athletic and recreational programs and activities within City facilities, primarily at Pal Gymnasium. This position assists with program operations, participant services, facility monitoring, and basic administrative tasks during scheduled evening and weekend hours. The Recreation Attendant helps ensure a safe, welcoming, and well-organized environment for all participants and visitors. This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Monitors activities within Pal Gymnasium to ensure participant safety, adherence to facility rules, and proper use of equipment. Assists with athletic and recreation program registration, including greeting participants, providing information, and completing required documentation. Collects program fees, issues receipts, and maintains accurate financial records in accordance with City policies and procedures. Keeps score during games and recreational activities as assigned.

Provides customer service by responding to participant inquiries, addressing concerns, and assisting with general facility needs. Records participant complaints or incidents and refers them to the appropriate supervisor or department for follow-up. Assists with set-up and clean-up of gymnasium and recreation areas before and after activities and events. Enforces facility policies, rules, and safety procedures in a professional and courteous manner.

Maintains awareness of emergency procedures and responds appropriately to incidents or safety concerns. Must have and maintain, without interruption, all necessary licenses, certifications, clearances, and/or job requirements. Works the assigned schedule and complies with the City's timekeeping and attendance policy.

Qualifications
  • No prior experience required. Valid Texas Driver's License.
  • PREFERRED:
    Bilingual (English/Spanish).
  • Previous experience using computer or registration software.
  • General knowledge of basketball, soccer, softball, and volleyball.
