Boilermaker Lead

The Mundy Companies, a leader in the industrial maintenance, services, and construction fields, is currently hiring for a 4-6 week position in the Pasadena, Texas area:

Successful candidates will have continuous and current experience as a Boilermaker in a petrochemical, industrial, or manufacturing environment.

Performs maintenance and installs equipment related to various types of towers, heat exchangers, heaters, and plant piping to blueprint specifications, using power tools and hand tools.

• Read blueprints to determine locations and relationship of parts.
• Drill and tap holes for installation of studs.
• Tighten bolts to assemble frames, using power or hand wrenches.
• Bolts or screw accessories, such as manholes, hand holes, fans, gauges, and valves to vessels.
• Replaces defective parts, using power wrenches, prying bars, or hand tools.
• May perform general piping work such as line breaking, installing blinds, gaskets, valves, couplings, and other fittings.
• May install equipment internals, packings, catalysts, and desiccants in vessels.
• May perform basic rigging if necessary, along with other duties as assigned.

Work days spent mostly outdoors, may include extreme hot or cold weather conditions. Physical demands may include climbing about machinery, climbing ladders, catwalks, and scaffolding, and medium carrying (exerting 20-50 pounds of force frequently). May require working inside vessels in cramped and uncomfortable positions. Must be able to wear respiratory protective equipment.

This position requires a strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement with the ability to follow written and verbal instructions in a safe, efficient manner. The ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing is also required. All qualified applicants must be craft certified or possess the ability to pass a craft test, as well as the ability to pass a criminal background check, pre‑employment drug screen and other qualifications as required.
