Turner Industries Group is looking for an experienced Diesel and Heavy Equipment Mechanic for the Houston, TX area. The successful candidate will have a background working on large diesel engines—Cat, Cummins, Detroit—and experience diagnosing and repairing hydraulic systems on heavy equipment such as cranes, dirt‑move machinery, and dump beds. This is a long‑term position based at our campus in Houston.

• 40 hours or more per week
• Overtime and call‑outs as needed – paid at time‑and‑a‑half

Responsibilities:

• Enter various petrochemical sites and perform repairs on existing equipment, primarily cranes.
• Perform repair, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and diagnostics on automotive equipment, including trucks, carts, buggies, air compressors, welding machines, cranes, dirt equipment, and trailers.
• Maintain a valid driver’s license to drive a company repair truck.
• Obtain and maintain a TWIC card, pass a background check, and attend HASC training required for facility entry.
• Adhere to safety equipment requirements (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, harness with lanyard, etc.).

• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on various automotive and heavy equipment.
• Follow supervisor’s instructions and complete additional assignments as directed.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• General gasoline and diesel engine knowledge.
• Ability to diagnose and repair equipment.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and work independently.
• ASME certification preferred.
• Technical training and/or industrial safety experience.
• Pass post‑offer drug/alcohol screening and physical evaluation.
• Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others.

Salary: $30 – $37 per hour.
