Area Supervisor – Ross Stores, Inc.
Join Ross, the leading off‑price retailer with over 2,200 stores, to build a career focused on customer experience, safety and teamwork. The Area Supervisor supports store operations, supervises associates, and serves as Manager on Duty when needed.

The Area Supervisor is a member of Store Leadership responsible for a specific area of the Store and for general operations when acting as Manager on Duty. Responsibilities include opening and closing the store, supervising associates, ensuring a clean and welcoming environment, and executing operational processes.
Essential Functions Safety & Security- Prioritize safety, monitor the sales floor, and report unsafe conditions.
- Control building security, including entrances, EAS devices, and cash office.
- Remove clutter, maintain egress, and conduct fire alarm testing.
- Respond to after‑hours alarms as requested.
- Respect all customers, associates, and leaders.
- Provide courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism.
- Recognize associates through company programs.
- Represent company brand and maintain professional appearance.
- Ensure cleanliness and merchandising standards.
- Handle daily trash removal.
- Ensure markdowns, receiving, and stockroom organization meet standards.
- Process merchandise with urgency and maintain cleanliness.
- Manage floor moves, promotional signing, and back‑stock processes.
- Follow Loss Prevention Awareness Program and maintain floor presence.
- Safeguard confidential and cash information.
- Use PVM, conduct package inspections, and maximize productivity.
- Train and coach associates on registers, cash control, and procedures.
- Manage break schedules and equipment.
- Ensure finish and inventory accuracy.
- Maintain cleanliness and tag integrity.
- Audit garment tags and manage go‑backs.
- Conduct cash pulls, deposits, exchanges, and payroll support.
- Adhere to refund, purchase, and safety policies.
- Manage work processes.

- Fluency in English.
- Prior customer‑service and supervisory experience preferred.
- Familiarity with point‑of‑sale equipment.

- Availability evenings and weekends.
- Use all store equipment, stand, walk, and move; bend, squat, kneel, climb, reach, stoop.
- Push, pull, lift up to 25 lbs; up to 20 lbs in stockroom shifts.
- Use janitorial and rolling equipment.
