Lab Technician

Overview

Supports reservoir engineering and fluid analysis by conducting laboratory tests on oil, gas, and water samples. Working as part of a small, specialized team, you will ensure accurate data collection and analysis to optimize reservoir performance and support production strategies. This role requires close collaboration with Analysts, Senior Analysts, and the Laboratory Supervisor or Manager to produce high-quality reservoir tracer analytical data and reporting to agreed client timescales.

• Work in accordance with company Health and Safety procedures to ensure laboratory operations are conducted safely
• Check-in samples accurately and timely to the internal global data portal, assigning unique identifiers and detailed sample descriptions
• Perform sample pre-treatment prior to Gas Chromatography (GC) or High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) rapidly, accurately, and to a high standard
• Conduct analysis in line with relevant laboratory quality standards, procedures, analytical methods, and work instructions
• Consult with the Senior Analyst to ensure client requirements are understood and met in full within required timescales
• Perform preventative maintenance checks on non-chromatography-based laboratory equipment to ensure continuity of analytical service
• Undertake other duties within the employee's skills and abilities as reasonably instructed
