Job Description
Stepan is seeking a QA Manger to join our Quality team in Pasadena, TX. In this role, you will report to the Northbrook based Regional Quality Manager, with additional reporting to the Site Director. This role Drive Quality Assurance and Quality Control philosophies throughout the plant organization and integrate key practices into the Manufacturing plant foundation. Represent the “Voice of the Customer” in addition the QA Lead and 4 – QA Technicians report directly to the QA Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- EHS&S:
Responsible for ensuring the safe operation of the quality department. - QA & QC:
Responsible for Quality Assurance and Quality Control on site and the monitoring and maintenance of the ISO 9001 and HOQ (House of Quality) system. - People:
Accomplishes objectives through high quality recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, and performance management of employees. - Financial:
Ensure delivery on budget fixed cost performance and identify and drive cost reduction opportunities for plant - Regulatory and Policy Compliance:
Understand all applicable regulations and policies and assures compliance. - Strategy development and customer focus
- Laboratory management
- Quality risk identification and management
- 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing in chemical industry (surfactants and person care product manufacturing preferred).
- 5+ years of supervisory experience.
- Knowledge and experience with implementation, maintenance, and audit of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001 or similar).
- Experience leading teams and working with customers.
- Experience in troubleshooting difficult problems in a plant environment.
- Excellent project management and organization skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization, and to manage cross functional teams.
- SQC, SPC, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry (master’s degree preferred)
Pay Range : $101,000 - $136,000
