About the Opportunity
Lofton Staffing is seeking a Manual Machinist for an established manufacturing facility in Pasadena. We're looking for dependable, skilled machinists who can work independently and produce high-quality parts with precision. Even if you don't have experience on VTL or HBM, we are willing to train the right candidate, so strong machining fundamentals and a willingness to learn go a long way!
Responsibilities
Operate manual lathes and mills to machine precision parts from carbon steel and stainless steel.
Read and interpret blueprints to determine dimensions, tolerances, and machining requirements.
Select proper tooling, set speeds and feeds, and verify dimensions using micrometers, calipers, and other precision instruments.
Work independently to complete parts accurately and efficiently.
Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow safety procedures.
Perform basic machine maintenance as needed.
Requirements
2-5 years of manual machining experience.
Strong proficiency with manual lathes and mills.
Experience machining carbon steel and stainless steel.
Ability to read and understand blueprints.
Experience with threading.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
Reliable attendance and punctuality.
High school diploma or GED.
Preferred (Training Available!)
VTL (Vertical Turret Lathe) experience - training provided if needed.
HBM (Horizontal Boring Mill) experience - training provided if needed.
Personal tooling (optional; not required).
Trade school or apprenticeship background.
