Job Summary
This role will Lead technical support for customers, bridging R&D and sales by troubleshooting issues, ensuring product application success (e.g., thermosets, composites, coatings, additives, monomers, curatives, anhydrides, etc.), training teams, driving new product development, managing technical projects, ensuring regulatory compliance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Customer Support:
Act as primary technical contact, providing expertise, troubleshooting issues, conducting on-site evaluations, and resolving complex problems for key accounts. - Technical Leadership:
Guide technical strategy, support product launches, manage lab activities, interpret results, and provide technical training to staff and clients. - Sales & Business Development:
Collaborate with sales to identify growth opportunities, support business development, provide technical input for proposals, and help acquire new customers. - Product & Innovation:
Interface with R&D to provide customer feedback, define new product needs, support product qualification, and contribute to innovation.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or chemical engineering required, advanced degree in related field is a plus
- 10+ years of work experience in chemical manufacturing organizations
- Direct customer support and engagement
- Significant application knowledge of thermosets, composites, coatings, curatives, and specialty anhydrides.
- Experience in analysis and reporting

Physical Requirements and Environment:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Travel may be required to meet with customers, provide technical presentations, and attend industry conferences.

Position may require exposure to the manufacturing areas where certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as fire-retardant clothing, respirator, safety glasses with side shields, hard hats, steel-toed boots, and mandatory hearing protection.
Primary environment: ambient room temperatures, lighting, and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment, approximately 50% of the time. The other 50% will require exposure to the manufacturing areas where certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as fire-retardant clothing, hard hats, steel-toed boots, safety glasses with side shields, and mandatory hearing protection.
