POSITION SUMMARY:
The Development and Alumni Engagement Coordinator supports the advancement team by managing donor relations, coordinating alumni programs, and assisting with fundraising campaigns and events. This role ensures smooth execution of day-to-day advancement operations while fostering relationships with donors, alumni, and partners.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Assist in developing and implementing strategies to cultivate, solicit, and steward donors, including drafting personalized acknowledgement letters, follow-up communications, and impact reports.
* Maintain accurate donor and alumni records in the CRM database, ensuring data integrity, gift tracking, and timely reporting.
* Coordinate logistics for alumni-focused programs, reunions, networking events, and regional chapter activities to strengthen alumni relationships.
* Support the planning and execution of advancement events, such as donor receptions, alumni reunions, recognition events, and other engagement programs.
* Collaborate with vendors, sponsors, and external partners to support advancement events and engagement initiatives.
* Manage the TCC Classifieds page, including scheduling, coordinating, and publishing classified announcements, ensuring accuracy and consistent branding.
* Assist in managing alumni communications channels, including newsletters, email campaigns, social media content, and website updates, ensuring consistent and professional messaging.
* Support fundraising initiatives by preparing donor prospect profiles, compiling campaign progress reports, and coordinating follow-up activities with prospective donors.
* Partner with the marketing and communications team to create promotional materials, event invitations, and digital content to enhance alumni and donor engagement.
* Respond to alumni and donor inquiries promptly, providing excellent customer service and ensuring positive engagement experiences.
* Manage scheduling, timelines, and internal coordination for campaigns, events, and alumni outreach efforts.
* Track alumni engagement metrics, donor participation, and fundraising progress, providing regular reports to the Director and senior leadership.
* Assist in preparing board reports, presentations, and advancement-related updates as requested by the Director or Associate Vice President.
* Provide general administrative support for the Institutional Advancement department, including managing calendars, scheduling meetings, and organizing records.
* Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and institutional goals.
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
Education:
Bachelor?s degree required
Experience:
A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in fundraising, alumni engagement, event coordination, or nonprofit program support is preferred. The ideal candidate will have experience working collaboratively across departments and building relationships with diverse stakeholders. Prior exposure to advancement, development, or alumni relations work in a higher education environment is a plus.
Skills:
* Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to draft professional correspondence and marketing materials.
* Tech-savvy with proficiency in donor databases, CRM systems, project management tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Comfortable navigating, learning, and implementing new technologies, including database systems and reporting platforms.
* Knowledge of social media platforms and digital marketing strategies to support alumni and donor engagement.
* Exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to projects.
* Proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships with donors, alumni, internal departments, and external partners.

CONDITIONS:
This is a full-time professional position requiring a dynamic, proactive approach to donor and alumni engagement. The role includes evening and weekend work.
PHYSICAL & MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Sitting, pulling/pushing (up to 10 pounds), carrying, speaking, and high skill level in listening. Specialized and verbal intelligence and a high degree of concentration. Able to work independently as a creative problem solver.
