Security Officer - University Campus Rover in Pasadena, CA

    What You ll Do
    • Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
    • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating to site leadership and/or public emergency services as needed.
    • Conduct regular and random patrols of campus buildings, classrooms, parking areas, athletic spaces, and perimeter points, with working environments and conditions varying by location and time of day.
    • Control access at designated entry points by monitoring visitor arrival, verifying identification and/or authorization, issuing visitor credentials, and directing guests according to site procedures.
    • Monitor cameras, alarms, radios, and other systems as assigned, reporting irregular activity and/or equipment issues to the appropriate contacts.
    • Complete shift activity reports, incident reports, and patrol logs with clear, accurate, and timely documentation.
    • Provide assistance with traffic flow during student arrival and dismissal times, special events, and/or deliveries when assigned.
    • Support school operations by coordinating with administrators and/or staff during drills, lockdown-related protocols, and other emergency response activities per site policy.
    • Conduct security-related checks of doors, gates, and exterior lighting, reporting unsecured areas and/or hazards to site contacts for follow-up.
    • Maintain a professional presence and appearance, using de-escalation and communication techniques to help reduce conflicts and/or disruptions on campus.
    Minimum Requirements
    • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
    • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
    • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
    • Customer service experience is preferred.
    • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
    • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
    • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
    • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
    • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
    • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
    • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
