General PurposeThe Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate greets all customers, treats fellow associates with respect, follows all company best practices, maintains a clean work area, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Associate is expected to perform a range of functions in all store areas as business needs require and may be asked to perform additional tasks when needed.
EssentialFunctions
- Understand that safety is the number one priority and practice safe behaviors.
- Maintain a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure environment.
- Treat all customers and associates with respect and courtesy.
- Assist customers – be register‑trained, help with merchandise, and answer questions politely.
- Respond to customer service calls immediately and handle all issues courteously.
- Represent and support the company brand at all times.
- Perform cleaning tasks (sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters and mirrors, replenishing restroom supplies, and disinfecting high‑touch areas).
- Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to the company's dress code.
- Execute daily sizing and recovery per company best practice.
- Expedite newly received merchandise to the sales floor with urgency.
- Understand the Loss Prevention Awareness program, Shortage Highway, and merchandise protection standards.
- Demonstrate integrity and honesty in all interactions, safeguarding confidential information, cash, and merchandise.
- Follow all Mark‑Out‑of‑Stock policies and other standard procedures concerning cash, check, charge‑card and refund transactions.

- Effectively communicate with customers, associates, and store leadership in a friendly, respectful, cooperative, and pleasant manner.
- Perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
- Use all store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PCs.
- Spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the store.
- Regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
- Occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 pounds.
- Use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
- Stockroom shifts may require pushing, pulling, and lifting more than 20 pounds.
