Description of Job Church Planting Residency Job Description

We are looking for an entrepreneurial, self-starter who is sensing a call to ordained ministry and to plant a church in Southern California. The ideal candidate is raring to go and looking to receive hands-on, paid experience in a fast-growing church.

Over the past five years, Vintage Pasadena has experienced strong and healthy growth, now encompassing:

• A community of 500 members
• Two morning services
• Weekly ministries serving over 100 children and youth
• Local outreach initiatives, including a weekly service for individuals experiencing homelessness
• Connections to international mission efforts

We are part of the HTB network of churches and designated a resource church within the Diocese of C4SO, Anglican Church of North America. Our vision is to train high-caliber local leaders and equip them to plant churches in Southern California.

Someone with:

• A passionate love for Jesus and the local church
• Strong and proven leadership gifts
• A proven track record in starting or growing ministries
• A tested sense of call toward church planting
• Openness to, or experience with low church, charismatic Anglicanism
• A seminary grad (or nearing completion)
• A desire to plant a church in Southern California

A two-year, full-time paid residency position including:

• Genuine opportunities to participate in a wide range of ministries
• Real leadership opportunities

• Preaching and leading services
• Leading ministries
• Performing baptisms, weddings and funerals
• Small group planning and coordination
• Budgeting and church finance
• One-on-one mentoring from our Senior Pastor
• Participation in a preaching cohort
• Regular meetings with a Spiritual Director
• Enrollment in C4SO’s Anglican foundations program
• Enrollment in HTB’s Accelerate church planting program

Our goal is that the residency will lead to ordination within the Anglican Church of North America.

• Full-time salary for two years including health benefits
