Job Type: Contract/Contract to Hire, Hybrid (3 Days Onsite), Full-Time
A small, close-knit law firm in Pasadena is seeking a skilled Litigation Attorney to join their team on a contract or contract-to-hire basis. This role offers mentorship, a supportive environment, and room for growth. The ideal candidate will have experience in insurance defense litigation and be comfortable handling deposition-related tasks.
Responsibilities- Conduct and defend depositions, including witness preparation and post-deposition analysis
- Draft and serve deposition notices, subpoenas, and related discovery documents
- Perform legal research and analysis to support deposition strategy and case development
- Collaborate with internal teams and clients to assess case strengths, weaknesses, and settlement options
- Prepare case files, exhibits, and summaries for hearings and trial preparation
- Communicate with opposing counsel regarding scheduling, discovery disputes, and case updates
- Assist in drafting motions, pleadings, and other litigation documents as needed
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and active membership in the California State Bar
- Minimum 2 years of experience in insurance defense litigation
- Strong understanding of civil procedure and deposition strategy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
