Associates gain exposure to a wide range of clinical experiences, treating issues within their scope of practice as clinicians. Our practice values clinical excellence and holistic, integrative care. Our orientation leans toward psychodynamic and depth psychotherapy, and we incorporate modern, evidence-based modalities such as EMDR and CBT/DBT coping skills and stabilization.
In addition to weekly supervision, we offer professional mentorship to help Associates develop as therapists and future private practice owners, building clinical, relational, and business skills.
Role DescriptionWe are seeking highly driven full-time Associate Marriage and Family Therapists (AMFT) or Associate Professional Clinical Counselors (APCC) or Associate Social Worker (ASW). Option to work in a hybrid model—remote and in-person at our Pasadena or Newport Beach offices. The position involves managing a minimum caseload of 20–25 clients per week. All associates must be willing to actively market themselves. The Associate Psychotherapist will provide therapeutic services, including individual and relationship counseling, and support for mental health and trauma-related issues.
They will collaborate with clients to develop personalized treatment plans, conduct therapy sessions, and utilize holistic techniques to foster healing and well-being.
- Provide primarily individual therapy, with occasional couples, family, and an option for group therapy
- Conduct intakes and assessments
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation
- Attend weekly supervision
- Willingness to develop clinical skills and attend training
- Dedication to self-promotion and marketing, and learning business skills for private practice
- Two-year commitment requested
- Caseloads include trauma clients; role suits those passionate about in-depth psychotherapy and developing a specialized focus in holistic trauma therapy
- Supervision will be provided; prior experience is a plus but not required
- Valid AMFT or APCC or ACSW registration in California
- Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or related field
- Strong clinical skills in individual therapy; couples therapy a plus
- Ability to maintain accurate and timely documentation
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Open to psychodynamic/depth-oriented work; training in holistic approaches (e.g., EMDR, somatic, IFS)
- Strong passion for somatic therapy and/or parts work and/or EMDR; genuine interest in trauma treatment valued
- 50/50 fee split:
Associates receive 50% of client session fees - Client fee range typically $100–$200 per session (sliding scale)
- Associates typically earn $50–$100 per session (higher fees possible after year
1) - W2 employee status
- Administrative support (billing, scheduling, onboarding, Simple Practice, Psychology Today)
- Referrals & marketing coaching
- Weekly supervision and business supervision
- Furnished office space, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platforms, and EHR
- Professional mentorship: psychodynamic and integrative guidance plus private practice management training
