Position OverviewUnder general supervision, this full‑time, non‑exempt position is responsible for the day‑to‑day delivery and facilitation of Kidspace Educational Programs. The role supervises staff, coordinates logistics, and collaborates closely with the Education Programs Manager to implement high‑quality programs that engage children through informal learning and amplify the work of teachers, scout leaders, and parents. Typical hours are Tuesday–Saturday, 8:45 a.m.–5:30 p.m., with some evenings and additional weekend hours required.
During the spring and summer seasons, hours shift to 7:45 a.m.–4:30 p.m. This position serves Kidspace in both onsite and offsite capacities.
- Supervise part‑time and seasonal staff to ensure the consistent delivery of high‑quality field trips, camps, and other educational programs, while maintaining a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment.
- Provide hands‑on leadership by preparing daily schedules, delivering real‑time coaching and feedback, building strong team culture, and equipping staff with the tools and knowledge needed to deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate experiences.
- Partner closely with the Education Programs Manager to identify training priorities, address systemic needs, and ensure staff are confident, prepared, and fully supported in their roles.
- Serve as “Lead Counselor” for all camps: planning logistics, implementing protocols, guiding activities, monitoring child safety and engagement, communicating with families, and directing and supporting camp staff.
- Lead day‑of program logistics to ensure seamless, safe, and engaging program delivery, including schedule coordination and real‑time problem‑solving.
- Support program research and development, including curriculum design, creation of training materials, facilitation of staff training, and ongoing program evaluation to ensure continuous improvement.
- Source, prepare, and manage program materials. Maintain organized and welcoming program spaces and develop contingency plans to ensure consistent, high‑quality implementation for every season.
- Oversee, organize, and manage all education program materials and supplies to ensure readiness, quality, and alignment with program goals.
- Source, purchase, prepare, and distribute materials in a timely, cost‑effective manner, maintaining vendor relationships, tracking inventory, monitoring usage trends, and managing spending within budget.
- Evaluate and implement best practices for inventory control, sourcing, purchasing, and resource management to improve efficiency, sustainability, and seamless program delivery.
- Develop and maintain organized, accessible, and safe supply storage systems for both onsite and offsite locations.
- Implement consistent data collection practices to support ongoing evaluation and assessment of education programs.
- Develop and administer evaluation tools to measure program effectiveness and ensure alignment with organizational goals, learning objectives, and core values in practice.
- Analyze program data to identify trends, strengths, and opportunities for growth. Translate evaluation findings into actionable improvements, refining curriculum, training, and delivery methods to enhance program quality and impact over time.
- Communicate proactively and collaborate with multiple departments, including Operations, Experience, and Facilities to integrate education programs seamlessly into the broader museum experience.
